Did you know that a room color can affect your mood ? While most of us may not spend a lot of time thinking about color, it affects every day of our lives. Color can influence our mood and our thoughts.
So it ’s important to choose wise colors for your home, because this is the place where you spend most of your time.
An article in last Sunday's Tennessean by Ashleigh Robertson of O'More College of Design states:
Yellow: Energy and warmth; but studies have shown babies cry more in yellow rooms and adults argue more. In a nursery, it may be best to stick with pinks and greens.
Blue: Pure, cool, peaceful. Andif you're trying to lose weight, try painting your kitchen or dining room blue, as it may suppress the appetite.
Brown: Earthy and stable; can slide into dull and dreary.
Green: Calm, a new neutral. Chances are, your doctor's office is painted some shade of green. But since green is so close to yellow on the color spectrum, it sometimes comes across as too vibrant.
Red: Passionate, but in the wrong hands may become overly dramatic and can even raise blood pressure.
